Questions this post answers

What is an insider cluster buy?

Three or more insiders buying the same company's stock on the open market within a window of no more than 60 days. It is the strongest single pattern in insider filings, because several people with inside knowledge independently decided the price was wrong at the same time.

Which stocks had the strongest insider cluster buying recently?

Top by score in the last 45 days: CDNL (7 buyers, $8.5M), DKS (6 buyers, $5.1M), CAMP (5 buyers, $5.0M), GME (4 buyers, $48.5M), AMRZ (11 buyers, $2.6M).

How is the cluster score calculated?

Out of 100: up to 50 for the number of buyers, up to 15 for who they are (officers and directors over funds), up to 25 for dollar size relative to the company, up to 10 for conviction signals such as buying a dip or a first-ever purchase, with a penalty when the buying is tied to an offering or placement.

Do cluster buys predict returns?

In the historical event study, purchases that were part of a cluster ran ahead of single purchases on a market-adjusted basis over the following quarter, in both the pre-2022 and holdout years. It is an average tilt with wide dispersion, not a forecast for any one stock.
